United-Kingdom stereo connector - round pins or flat pins??

Hi

About to change the head unit on my Cooper S (UK spec, built Nov 2005, with crappy standard radio/cassette unit).

It appears there are 2 types of connector adaptors available - one with round pins and one with flat pins. Before I rave out all the dash can anyone tell me which adaptor I need for my model? I want to get all bits ordered before I start dismantling.

Any other tips gratefully received.

Cheers.

I had this problem as well!

You're really not going to know for sure until you've got the old unit out. Not very helpful so far, however...

Go down to Halfords where they stock both bits. I know that my branch would be okay to let me have both types of wiring loom on the understanding that they will refund for the part that I didn't use. That's how I would have done it a second time...

Good luck.

Tigger.

PS Beware the Sony head unit. It beeps at you every time you get out of the car to remind you to take the face plate with you. This drives me up the wall!

Cheers.
