I bought the Belkin TuneDok, however the provided 'cups' don't fit in the front cupholders in the MINI. I chose to cut down the larger sized cup, since the smaller one was almost a good fit, and I figured if I stuffed up the large one I could still use the small one.

I cut about 1cm or so from the top, and then cut two slits down the side so I could push it into the cupholder:

I pulled the trim of the front cupholders and pushed the now-modified 'cup' in:

replace the trim:

screw the cradle back in place:

and voila!

Thanks Micky.. that cup holder is useless any way! I always foul my hand on anything in it when I change gears.. is the belkin thing a charger or just a holder??

it's purely a holder. They also have a charger that goes into the cigarette lighter and has a line out port on it.
The cradle was abuot au$40, and the charger is about $80

$80 !?! I wil have to have a look on eBay tosee if there is anything cheap... have you?

This looks pretty nice, and totally non-intrusive (easily removable).

I wonder if one could mod one of these just a little bit further to accept a Zen Micro, instead of the ipod or ipod mini (they also make a tunedock for that model).

Hmmm. The IPPD mini and the Zen Micro are both 2" wide, but the Zen is shorter (but thicker).

Looks like a trip to Best Buy is in order.

Check Ebay for sure. I got the Belkin tunedok (I did a similar install, just a different cup) and the Belkin charger/line out for about $25 US Dollars. It works well, my only complaint is it is a bit dangerous to control during spirited driving. I believe I will be upgrading to the IceLink fairly soon.
