Offline | BMW MINI iPod Adaptor v Dension Icelink 1.1 Have been reading the horror stories with the new Dension Icelink Plus. It seems you've been sold a dummy (I can't actually work out the advantage of the plus interface). I currently have a 05 Cooper with H/K system, no Nav and a 40G iPod. I want to hook up the iPod and be able to (i) advance tracks and (ii) control volume via my MFSW controls. Should I get the Dension 1.1 or the BMW MINI interface? And can some nice person post a link to any info on the BMW MINI interface, as I can't find anything on it. Help appreciated. Pepperamini - It's a bit of an animal! |

Offline | The ice>link plus problems have now actually been fixed - and I must say, its an absolutely top unit, and I wouldn't trade it for anything else! The official adaptor is overpriced and under featured. Go the ice>link plus! |

Offline | bmw adapter 1. allows you to browse first 5 playlists using headunit 2. I believe can shuffle music dension 1. it can be mounted in front of you 2. You can use buttons 1 - 5 to control playlists 1- 5 (same as bmw) 3. you can browse all playlists using radio controls and the ipod lcd 4. THey will eventually try to add id3 tag feature for 2005 vehicles. 5. You can choose to use the standard ipod display and control the music through the ipod instead of radio controls (although not recommended because of distractions) 6. It can be moved to other vehicles at a later date by just buying a new interface cable I'd go dension although the firmware was iffy at the beginning I am goign to install their latest which they just released and apparently has fixed the bugs ***************** Cooper Launch Edition # 7/500 Chili red , white roof |

Offline | I opted for the Mini solution because it was a tested and proven product, no exagerated claims and is not a distraction while driving. I would never give my money to a company that I know that has lied to their customers to sell them a product. |

Offline | Even with the exagerated claims of supporting ID3 tags on the Mini stock HU (which, in all honesty, would be nice, but is not something *needed*), this product still has so much more functionality over the OEM Mini solution! I don't see how you claim the IceLink is a distraction while driving (ever used a Mobile Phone cradle?) - if a small cradle is distracting to you while on the road, honestly you are so easily distracted that you shouldn't be driving! |

Offline | I sell the dension The price £99 gives you a choice of dock connector or active cradle. The only extra you might need is a no holes bracket p.s. I give discount to priv club members |

I have never used a mobile phone cradle, in fact I turn the darn cell phone off while driving. How many times have you heard of people who have crashed just by changing radio stations. While driving I only do one thing, drive. If you would live in a city where it has one of the highest accidents per day, if you are smart, you would probably do the same. |

Offline | Actually I've never heard of anyone having an accident changing radio stations - maybe CD's, but not just changing a radio station! Personally I just think that ID3 text is enough to distract you off the road! |
