Offline | Can’t believe this hasn’t come up before, but a couple of searches haven’t thrown anything up… Despite speccing rear tints on the MCS, the little ‘uns still get hysterical in the back when the faintest glimmer of sunlight flickers across their eyes, so last autumn when the sun starting getting low in the sky I confirmed with my local dealer that the blinds were approx £35 for the pair. Not a bad price I thought, especially considering the one-size-fits-none Halfords jobs tend to be about half that However, the sun soon disappeared completely from the sky, and I didn’t think any more of it until these last few days when “DADDY MAKE THE SUN STOP SHINING IN MY FACE” has once again become a familiar call from the back, so I sent the Mrs in to the dealers to pick some blinds up – only to find out that the blinds actually fit to some clips which need permanently fixing, involving 1 hours labour = total cost £125! Sorry, but I’m not willing to spend that much for a pair on sun blinds, but nor do I want to have to resort to some Halfords square ones that’ll still leave most of the window uncovered anyway. So, does anyone know what is actually involved in fitting the blinds, or if there is a decent alternative on the market? Any blindfolding my kids is not an option. Nor, I am told, is gagging them. ![]() NightFox http://nogginthenog.co.uk/misc/nfmini.jpg Oct 04 = ‘05 MCS (Black over BEP) :: Graco Cosmic (Urban Cool) :: BébéConfort Loola/Creatis (New Oxygen) |

Offline | I actually get sunburn through the sunroof, so I had to do something about it for long trips. I purchased a suitable piece of Mylar, which is a thin, shiny, plastic-like material that's used in the shiny helium party balloons, among other things. Simply apply it to the mesh screen on the sunroof with heavy duty tape. Completely keeps the sun out, easy to apply, easy to mold to any shape. Got the Mylar at a party favors store. I'm working on a better, more permanent way to attach it to the sunshade. The tape won't last too long, but it works for now. It's also easy to remove. A similar material should work as well. Not hard to do. good luck! |

Offline | They must have a new design. I have the rear blind and two sides. They have velcro on them so you can stick sticky pads to hold them in place, but you don't need them, the fit is so good anyway. Seems strange they've made that backwards step. There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | Do your side ones have a part number on? If they're the same number as the "current" ones, I'll probably just order some anyway - as you say, it seems a strange thing to change... Offline | Just to close off this thread with an answer to my original question – ordered the blinds, picked them up at the weekend, and yes, they do fit perfectly well in the window recess without any additional clips or Velcro patches etc. No additional fixing kit came with the blinds, so I remain clueless as to what my dealer originally wanted to charge me £80 labour for. ![]() NightFox http://nogginthenog.co.uk/misc/nfmini.jpg Oct 04 = ‘05 MCS (Black over BEP) :: Graco Cosmic (Urban Cool) :: BébéConfort Loola/Creatis (New Oxygen) |

Offline | Didn’t bother asking about the rear one (got tints already). If the kids ever start moaning that the sun’s shining on the back of their heads they can go in the boot. ![]() NightFox http://nogginthenog.co.uk/misc/nfmini.jpg Oct 04 = ‘05 MCS (Black over BEP) :: Graco Cosmic (Urban Cool) :: BébéConfort Loola/Creatis (New Oxygen) |

Offline | Rear sunblind technical hold I'd like to get hold of a rear sunblind - my dealer can't get any more info other than the 'technical hold' status. \has anyone had any luck getting one? |
