Offline | Speaker Installation Help Because I love to drive my MCS and listen to musik at the same time I thought about upgrading the stereo. The only problem is the money. I considered a simple speaker upgrade to be the cheapest way to get a better sound out of that sereo. However, when i was reading through posts on this topic I got really confused what to do and what NOT to do. I was thinking of using the Alpine E-Series because they are supposed to be used with the built-in headunit amp. One of the local electronics stores got the 6*9 (SPE-9602) for the rear on sale for 60€. I want to upgrade those first because they sound like s*** (as everybody knows). Do you think these sperkers would match the radio boost and that they are worth it. Today I had a look at the panels that cover them and I was asking myself if it is neccessary to take the whole thing out (up to the hatch)? If yes, where are the srews at the front or is it just secured with clips apart from those srews in the back? In the case that I would get as far as this: Do those speaker fit right in the old place (screws) and use the old connectros or are there any at the stock speakers? I would appreciate any replies! If you help me I would create a how-to on this process, for all those who need as much help as I do. PS: The front speakers would be changed later, too (Alpine SXE-1350 Component System) Always remember: Drive Fast AND Safe http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/18001/32352.jpg Soon with racing stripes |

Offline | The back panels need to be removed there is a guide on this site 0 try the FAQ. There are 3 screws in the boot, the rest of it is clips once the seat base & back is out along with theboot trim. The size is standard 6*9 I have adaptor plugs available as the connector is different. Also I would buy some spare clips as there are normally a few broken |

Offline | Thanks for the Info... i could not figure out where i am supposed to look for the info on taking the panels out. there's nothing in the FAQ, and I would want to add it when I'm done with the work. According to the connectors: I think I'll just cut the wires and put them together with one of those things electricians use for connecting wires Always remember: Drive Fast AND Safe http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/18001/32352.jpg Soon with racing stripes |
