United-Kingdom Where is the Speed Pluse Wire on the Convertible?

Hi,
I've just installed the Pioneer AVIC-X1 in my Mini Cooper S Convertible (2005) -and the last thing I need to do is connect it to the speed pulse wire. However there is no sign of it !-it was located in the drivers sill on the Hatchback (2004)

Does anyone know where is the Speed Pulse wire on the Convertible??

Thanks in advance!

I have a Kenwood 925DVD and had the same problem when installing it in my Convertible Cooper S, after many hours of looking around upside down with my head under the dash, i found mine!!!

If you look under the dash on the drivers side, you will see a large loom running down towards the sill, its in the middle of that lot!!!!

If you carefully cut away some of the felt tape holding the loom together and seperate the wires you will find a small Green/Yellow wire (approx 0.5mm CSA) in the middle of it all.

I just scratched away some of the insulation with a stanley knife to connect mine and then re-covered it again with insulation tape.

Hope this helps you, any problems let us know.

I had, had enough of wire hunting after finding the speed pulse!!!!
So I have never bothered connecting it, works fine without it!!!
Not sure what its supposed to do anyway!!

The speed pulse wire is to tell the sat nav how far you have traveled, in between the GPS updates.

Also it helps if your in a long tunnel and loose GPS signals for a while, also you dont need to wait for the satnav to find a signal when you first set off.
