JL Audio 12W6, 10W7 or even two 10W6

I was ICE shopping today and found a 12W6 for $310 new, from a merchant. I would need a custom box, and was wondering if any of you have installed any of the sub woofers listed in my topic. How was the fit, and how did it sound? I listen to a lot of Electronic music with 4-4 beats, so a sealed box would be my aim, methinks.
I was thinking about getting a Rockford Fosgate 5002 amp to power the sub(s). Please help me; I am by no means a knowledgeable icer.

Merci infiniment,

Virgil

JL audio actually makes a sub that is in a custom box for the mini cooper. http://www.jlaudio.com/stealthbox/minicooperD.html. All of the information is right there and has pictures. it is designed to take up minimal space.

Thank you for your reply.
Yeah, the stealth box fits a W3, not the W6 or 7. I really wish someone would be able truthfully to say otherwise, because that is a nice fit.
By the way, the subs that I would want are either the W6V2 or W7V2, not the version one.

Thanks again.

is the stealth box compatable with the stock head unit?

i did not see anything on that page that mentioned the actual audio hookups. only securing the stealthbox into the boot...

yes the stealthbox is compatable with the stock HU there are just not sub pre amp outputs on the HU so a special plug is needed to split the pre amp outs that are in the back of the HU.

I see!

Do you still have that car, or you got rid of it?

Also where did you get that done, and how much it cost you, cause it looks sweet

do you know where I can buy the JL audio stealth box? Preferably a website where I can order and have it delivered in the US? I've been trying to look but all I've found is the one in the UK. thanks.

I believe JL Audio doesn't allow online / catalog sales in the US. So, you're going to have to find a local authorized dealer to get a stealthbox.

13W7 in the back seat

check out my install below...

had it done almost a month ago, joined a DB Drag after...my sub did 140db with a weak battery

my install:

one JL 13W7
JL XR653CSi 3-way components in the front
JL VR650CXi for rear fill
one JL 1000/1 slash series amp for the sub
one JL 300/2 slash series amp for the 3-ways
JL Audio wiring & fuses
Clarion DXZ946MP headunit

crystal clear yet...thumps like hell

i suggest you lose the backseats to make way for a properly spec-ed enclosure
