Having recently changed my 2001 MC to a 2005 MCS, I have loved most of the improvements since the car was first launched. However the quality of the leather on the Sports Steering Wheel is disappointing compared to my leather steering wheel on my previous Cooper - or is it just me? It feels now more like plastic but the stiching is there prooving that it is leather. Has anyone else found this at all?

According to the spec sheet it's a 3-spoke sports leather steering wheel....???

I believe that the American version is leatherette, the Euro version is leather. As to quality, no idea mate, can't help you there

Having just come from a 10 year-old leather-trimmed wheel on the old car, the one on my MCS with Chilli Pack feels great?

The leather on the steering wheel will soften up over time and become more leather feel

Mine is real leather, and feels great to me. I have had softer, glove-like steering wheels, and while they look and feel great when new - do not last. I would get rubbing and peeling at the top and 10-2 positions within 50,000 miles without exception. I still have a spare wheel for my other car I haven't put on yet.

This Mini wheel feels very durable in comparison and still firm and comfy.

Mine is listed as leather, and feels mighty fine to me! In fact, it was the first thing I noticed as I drove away from the dealer...
