I don't see any documentation for, or individuals' experiences with, installing the 2005 cupholder in a non-2005 Mini anywhere on Mini2 or MotoringFile. It looks like the holder needs indents on the right-hand column in order to attach, and my 2002 doesn't have them. Is there a way to install the cupholder so it looks just like the 2005 factory install?

When you open the glovebox, do you see two screws? If so, you just take those out and align the cupholder with the holes, then put the screws back in. I have a 2005 so mine had it already there, but I thought the screws were there in older models.

Yes they are! The answer was too simple for me to see on my own, apparently. Thanks for the tip.
