Offline | Hello all, First of all may I just say hello. I bought a grey MCS on sunday and am really pleased with it. I've owned performance cars in the past and was a bit nervous about buying a 1.6 hatchback but a mate convinced me, and I certainly owe him a beer. I was looking for a fairly sensible car, but I'm having almost as much fun in it as I did in my Elise! Anyway I'll stop rambling for now and get on with the questions (I don't half go on sometimes). My car doesn't have a glove compartment; it has a shelf. Can I buy a glove compartment and install it? Where's the best place to buy a grey/silver union jack roof decal? Aside from air filters, what are the best low-cost power upgrades? I've scraped a bit of silver paint off the interior door trim - will the warranty cover this? Will I ever stop taking corners at 3G? Cheers! |

Offline | Congrats on the purchase! 1.6L displacement is very misleading on it's own. 1. Yes, you can get a glovebox to retrofit in. I'm pretty sure they sell them for you RHD Brittons. Check on some of the British/European aftermarket parts sites. 2. Check the same parts sites. I don't know what's reputable in the UK. 3. A supercharger pulley is another fairly low cost upgrade. 15% gives you an extra little grunt without needing to change any belts. 4. Probably not; you caused it. Where is the paint scuff and how big is it? If you've got a nice MA at the dealership, see if they'll give you a paint touch-up pen for free. 5. You only take corners at 3G? ![]() 2005 BEP MINI Cooper S |

| Man in the know! | 1. Yep, you can get a retro fit glove box from your dealer, easy to fit and looks much better. 2. try your local mini dealer, they will be able to advise. 3. As above, try a different pully, or bigger intercooler 4. not a chance, get a touch up pen from your dealer, they are only £8 5. Add the JCW wheels, Suspension and Seats and you'll take 'em quicker! |

Offline | Cheers guys! I'll get a glovebox at the weekend. I'm not sure about fiddling with the suspension - I did that with my old Z3M Coupe and it made it too hard, low and 'skippy'. I find a softer set-up a better sporting option for real-world driving and I think the ride quality is already on the lower side of comfortable. I'll look into this pulley as well. There must be loads of members here from Guildford - the whole town seems to be full of 911s and MINIs! If any Guildford sorts see a grey MCS bombing around, give me a wave ![]() |
