Hi People, how hard would it to be to retro fit a sunroof?some cost would be nice excluding the actual sunroof.

A real, official MINI sunroof is going to cost loads, if you can even find someone to do it. It would presumably have the drains in it to keep the water out of the interior of the car when it leaks (and they all will at some point). It would also then be integrated with the car's electrics.

A cheap, small, "drop-in" unit won't cost nearly as much (I've known people who've had it done for a few hundred dollars, and others who've done it themselves, but not on MINIs), but then you have the worries of leaking, proper sealing, etc.

FWIW, I wouldn't bother trying to add one.

I think this style would be your only option. It's an official MINI part, but I'm not sure in which countries it is available. That picture can be found on the German and Austrian web pages.

Try going here: http://www.webasto.us/press/en/am_au...roofs_789.html.
A body shop once quoted me US$1,200 for the whole shebang, but that was a couple of years ago. They also guaranteed their work. When I called I said I was interested in the Webasto fabric sunroof kit. I just love the fabric fold-up on these things.

OK, now that, I would add
I've always loved that style roof (ever since my first Herbie movie)
I thought Pete was referring to the "regular" dual-pane sunroof...
