| You can call me Lord | Steering wheel gauges - USA option I have been looking at Mini specifications over the pond and it seems additional gauges are available as an option in the USA. Does anyone have them, if so, what are the gauges for???? Can they be purchased as a non dealer fit accessory???? I am off to Houston Thursday for a couple of weeks, I may have to pop in to a dealer and bring some home ![]() |

Offline | The only gauges I see are the under-panel ones that go under the rocker switches. They give you battery voltage and oil temperature. You may be thinking of having the speedo and tach both on the steering wheel. This happens if you get the Nav system or chrono pack, both of which put something else where the speedo normally goes. The chrono pack gives you oil temperature, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level, but no battery voltage. There are also a number of people here who have fitted their own gauges, and I've seen a boost gauge or two on the steering wheel (though not fitted from MINI). Hope that helps... -Eric |

Offline | I saw the column mounted ones. I don't think they are offered with the Chrono pack. I do remember seeing something like this once. The dials are not the same look as the speedo and tach so they don't look quite right. They are $325. Dain |

| MINI2 Regular | I don't have them and have no need for them, but there is a guy local to me (Ohio, USA) that actually manufactures a mounting bracket (like the one shown) where you can add your own gauges. If you pop over to http://www.minineo.org post a question and someone should help you out with an answer. I've only met him once at a gathering and he had a trunk load of parts that he manufactures. |

Offline | I have them. There is a boost meter in PSI, and a Voltmeter. The boost meter reads 17 PSI to be in line with JCW cars. They are LED backlit and look the exact same at nightand are Stuart Warner guages. The hardest part of the install was getting the vaccum line through the firewall. The electrical connection plugs right into the back of the toggle panel. No splicing of wires, this alone was worth it to me. The fit and finish is nice, and it comes with a replacement panel that replaces the one just below the tach. There are several threads on Northamericanmotoring.com. Depending on where you are going in Houston, there are two dealerships, MINI of the Woodlands about a 25 minute drive North from Bush airport on 45 North, and Momentum MINI on 59. Many houston people choose to go to MINI of the woodlands, because the service has been better. If you do end up wanting them, you will probably need to call. Mine were a few days on backorder. You will need to talk to David Shcaffer at the MOTW parts desk. Their number is 936-271-2900. Pm me if you need any more info. BTW, tell him glassintrepid sent you. Here ya go. http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...light=guag es |
