Probably a stupid question:

When I first read my owners manual, I thought it stated that the rear seats can be removed?

Can anyone validate this or tell me that I read too much between the lines of the manual and misread it?

Thank you

It's traditional for german cars to have removable rear seat squabs. Grab the front
of the seat and give it a strong yank upwards and out it will come. The backrests only
come out when you tackle them with a socket. It isn't a very useful facility, I think it is
a leftover from when families went picnicing together and took the squab out to sit on
outside the car.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

You can easily remove the horizontal bench section, but not the upright seat backs. The seat backs need a screw driver and a socket set - and about 15 minutes first time out.
