Offline | Silver/alloy interior trim options - Uncoordinated? Having sat in a variety of Ones, Coopers and S's over the past few weeks, I've come to the conclusion that the only interior trim option that is properly coordinated is the Brilliant Silver. With BS the gloss-finish door ovals match the dash, the speedo and the rev counter; and the matt-finish door pulls, in a similar shade as brilliant silver, match the centre console pillars, the speakers, ash-tray, gear stick base etc. It all looks "together". With the standard anthracite trim, the gloss-finish is restricted to the dash and the matt-finish ancillaries are in a similar, dark metallic shade. All of which looks quite classy. Inexplicably, however, the Rev counter casing is Brilliant Silver gloss! The Cooper S' Alloy Patina door ovals and dash look great, BUT the Speedo and Rev counter are Brilliant Silver Gloss and the other ancillaries are all brilliant silver matt-finish! Does anybody else think these could have been better coordinated? Does anybody have any suggestions for other options, like the "Individual" range for the BMW-Series cars? Not necessarilly just for the trims mentioned above, but maybe some other TWO-tone leather options for the Sport seats, alternative door and interior cladding colours, or even exterior body colours (I saw a "Brass Metallic" offered in the "Individual" catalogue, for example - wild...or should that be weird?) |

| MINI2 Master | I have the brilliant silver interior but with the chrome door handles which I much prefer to the matt-finished ones. I think the chrome handles match the chrome shifter knob and the other chrome bits inside and outside the car. Harry MINI Cooper Cabrio: now the car with go cart handling really feels like an open go cart! Offline | Chrome handles I agree! Coincidentally, I just picked up a set of chrome handles from my dealer this afternoon! Unfortunately, however, when I opened the boxes, they were both for the driver's door despite the boxes being labelled correctly. Damn! I could fit just the one for the time being, I suppose, but that would be uncoordinated! |

Offline | updates I'd expect anthracite tacho surrounds to pop up eventually and maybe even patina ones. Topper pads have always been panther also but a colour variation is an eventual possibility, as is eventual colour coordination of all interior options. Offline | Re: Silver/alloy interior trim options - Uncoordinated? Couldn;t agree more! not looked at everyone;s replies yet so if CMT's already said this, CMT was saying maybe the Anthracite doesn;t have a mayching rev counter as everyone who got it wasn;t likely to have had the rev counter (it being originally for the one) as when you get the Salt pack, it has the BS and the Rev counter. As for the Cooper S Alu, well thats just plain daft, it looks good but the rest should match!!!! The MS is the best at the moment. Mini should get a colour co-ordinator! ![]() |

Offline | Answering AidenL Couldn't say when or if at all. I really don't know. I strongly believe the changes will come but I find myself in the rare situation where explaining the reasoning behind my last post could lead to it being just that. ![]() It's not worth delaying an order over thats for sure. You could find yourself waiting forever!! Last edited by MiNiGuY : Jun 25th, 2002 at 04:34 PM. |

Offline | speaking of, did anyone order and fit the chrome rings (for speedo, tach, vents, shifter surround, speaker surround etc etc) found on www.gotmini.com? how'd they look? getting the full set is probably overkill/expensive but a couple ones might look quite spiffy - i'm thinking tach, speedo and shifter surround... cooper s '05 x brg/white/chrome, cordoba/anthracite/chrome, flik wasp 17x7 x delivered july 26th 2005 cooper '02 replaced x brg/white, R83 white, chrome, cordoba x built june 21st, arrived july 15th on the traviata, delivered july 26th 2002 |
