280bhp John Cooper Works driven by EVO magazine

Next months EVO magazine just landed on my doorstep.... they drive a 280bhp Works S car produced by John Cooper Garages (not some after market stuff).

Makes great reading.

I'd post the story but I'm afraid copywrite would be infringed.....

sounds cool, i saw an article in a magazine bout people who spend loads on their minis can't remember what magazine it was tho, anyway there was this one cooper s that looked standard but had 310+ bhp and it was faster than a 911 and they still got wheel spin in 4th gear and to keep the engine cool they had to use a 1980's F1 radiator if i remember rightly

Yes, and with that power it certainly is going to nail some tough opposition. Wonder what the warranty position is...

Now if only the GP had these performance figures, people would be kicking the door down.

Wonder how much it would cost...?

Damn you. My EVO hasn't landed on my doorstep yet so it won't be a surprise now!

Since we don't get new Evo issues here until 3-4 weeks after they appear in the UK, you've now left me contemplating a very, very long wait.

Read this last night

280bhp from a Works S!

Sounds good and it seems they have made some tweaks to the suspension in the out season (not to mention the rear venturi and the move to slicks).

I want one! And then I wanna go night racing

The car looks more like the European spec Challenge car, with the relocated fuel tank etc.

The bit I'm dying to know is how they got the power - smaller pulley, more aggressive ports, larger throttle body, trick cam, less compromised map, bigger intercooler , what?

Anyone got any clues?

Hey Pobsey, anyway I can get that image? I wanted to set it as my desktop, but it won't let me save the image. I also tried hosting it on imageshack using the url, however that doesn't work either!

Thanks!
