Offline | Having just had a first 'proper' look at my beloved GP parked on my drive, can someone please confirm something for me as I am a tad confused... It would appear that the GP's beautiful 18" alloys have "lockable wheel studs" (as on most other MINIs)... do owners require a specific "adapter" then to remove the alloys, e.g. in the event of a puncture? It's just that if we do, I can't find my adapter!! Am I worrying unnecessarily? Thanks for helping in advance fellow GP drivers! |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | I'm not a GP driver but I assume that they will use the standard MINI locking bolts. Only one per wheel usually. There are only 29 different ones and if you go to the dealer they normally have a keyring with all 29 on. They'll identify which one you need and order one up. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Just checked the gallery and can confirm looking at pics that the GP uses the same locking wheel bolts as all other MINI's. One per wheel. You'll see one of the bolts looks different. That is actually a plastic cover. Pull it off to reveal a bolt that requires a splined key to undo. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | "Root Ginger"... many thanks for that quick reply!! However, good news... dealer has just phoned & told me where to find it... it's actually under the boot lid floor (where the car battery is) & is embedded in foam... I didn't spot this before; on my old S it was with a small tool kit in one of the side boot compartments in a leather case! I'm now a happy GP owner again!! |

Offline | We can confirm that the JCW/GP lug bolts are different from the standard MINI lug bolts. The JCW/GP bolt (pictured on the left in the image) is a finer thread/pitch and also has a larger thread/shaft diameter. The JCW/GP bolt is also slightly shorter than that of the stock MINI lug bolt on the right. The taper toward the head of the JCW/GP bolt also appears to flare out at less of an angle than stock however a standard 17 MM socket fits both for rotating and changing tires.
