Gp Air Fan

Hi to all who have a GP.

Ok, I drove my Gp back from the dealers, a 7 mile trip. I noticed the air fan that keeps the engine cool turned on after I got to my drive and stopped. The weather isn't that warm anymore, and this was early evening.

Does this happen to your GP's?

Were you driving it hard?

I haven't noticed whether mine has come on.

It's not the speed you drive at but the revs - actually going slow but revving high is a sure way to turn the fan on! The car needs a certain amount of air speed through the radiator; if it doesn't get it by the car moving, it'll get it by turning the fan on. Higher revs = more heat = more need for the radiator.

Worry if the fan doesn't come on!

That will almost certainly have caused it. As long as it's coming on and the water is being kept cool don't worry. If it stays on after the engine is switched off it normally indicates a coolant problem (or it's incredably hot outside).

It was acceptable in the 80's
