hi andi

the only problem i've heard of is how easily damaged the body kit can get. it attracts buffs an scratches like there's no tomorrow.

I have been running an 2005 MCS JCW (dealer installed) for the past 40,000 miles and the only issue I have experienced is the ocasional pain in the face muscles from excessive grinning! Its like driving around with a coat hanger in your mouth. Enjoy...

There is no overheating problem with the R53 JCW MCS. It doesn't make enough power to overheat the stock cooling system.

andi i have been running the JCW on my R53 for the last 3 years. Our summers are stinking hot and never had a problem with overheating. Last run we did the temp hit 45.5C at one stage and not the slightest hint of overheating, thats also with 4 OEM spotlights on the front supposedly restricting the airflow too!

It does feel a bit slower in the heat, but all S's are affected by this. 40,000 miles on mine and no overheating issues, well not on the engine anyway. Brakes and tyres, that's a different story

Statistics are like mini-skirts, they give you a lot of ideas but hide whats important

Think you'll find there's slightly less power in the Summer only when the air conditioning is on "cold" with the fan blowing. Least, that's what I and several others have found.

Actually the loss in power, in hot weather, is due to the less dense air hitting the supercharger. murmini - MINI Cooper Blog : MCS more fun in the cold weather
