Offline | Retro Fitting Rear Wash Wipe Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, I got my GP on the 1st September and have loved every minute driving it. It would be nice to have a rear wash wipe though especially on those rainy days, after a few miles of driving I cant see a thing out of the back window. Just wondering if anyone has had it retro-fitted? Last edited by Chod : Feb 20th, 2007 at 09:21 PM. |

Offline | Personally I wouldnt bother. I have a standard MCS and the back gets covered so quickly I just dont wash it any more. Othherrwise I run out of fluid too quickly. |

Offline | welcome ![]() I think what you are asking would be too much work and cost, first off all finding someone to cut the hole in the rear glass, then the fitting of the arm, motor, washer jet, and wash tank, then the control arm for all of this. Far easier to stop if you need to get out a screen wipe, use and dispose of ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | You would have to replace the whole hatch assembly with a standard hatch, modify that so you could mount the spoiler, change the glass etc..... like most things on the GP the wiring is also probably missing as well...... Its a very difficult job and the only way to get through it is we all work together as a team..... |

Offline | I contacted BMW yesterday, they basically said it would be technically possible but as they do not do a 'retro fit kit' for it they couldn't help me. Oh well looks like I will have to continue washing it twice a week ![]() |

Offline | But think of the extra weight too, they very cleverly engineered that out, you'd mess up the balance completely. ![]() Welcome to MINI2. ![]() There aint no party like my nana's tea party |
