My RHS engine mount appears to have 'burst and is leaking oil all over the inner wing. If these are struggling with the output of the engine, this might explain the exhaust problem.

Make sure you clean that oil off ASAP - it eats the paintwork.
We have just had ours repainted after a similar problem!!

Mine was the centre section...

All fix now bar MINI sending the wrong spacer - an enquiry has been raised and a proper part fitted when they work out what needs doing!

Just noticed that my previously trouble free 0524 is now blowing! Has everyone who has had an exhaust issue like tis on their GP's had it fixed under warranty?

Mine has 19770 miles on the clock just worried that they might consider it normal!! I don't as the car is not yet a year old.

Yes, mine was fixed under warranty (after 8,500 miles) by my dealer no problem.

Thanks for that just been into my dealer, they wanted to check which parts were needed prior to it going in to be fixed. They confirmed to me it will be a warranty item which is a relief! Also spoke to a technician who was very helpful and really knew what he was talking about. Just hope it lasts until they can fit me in!!

All quiet again on the GP front, back to normal popping rather than that blown exhaust note!

Fixed with a smile by my dealer! No problems with it so far!

And most importantly no charge!!

I have almost 34K miles on my '06 MCS JCW. Just had the motor mount replaced, and tomorrow I'll get my new JCW exhaust system (failed weld). I've had my strut towers repaired, too. If this keeps up, I'll feel like I have a whole new MINI. Better tell my husband to check his GP, but he doesn't drive it enough to break anything.

Hmmm, I've got a little over 9,000 miles on my S Works and was just thinking how meaty the exhaust was sounding the last couple of days. Looks like I'll be taking a trek to the dealership soon, which is a little disconcerting since the car was just there for a slave cylinder replacement last week!

Update: There was a "hole" in my exhaust. Replaced. Also, I was finally able to convince my service guy that there was a problem with the flywheel. Replaced flywheel and clutch.

Despite having the exhaust brackets checked over by the dealership in July, the middle exhaust bracket has just snapped at 17.500 miles.

On my way back to work from lunch the exhaust started blowing. The metal circular bracket had snapped clean in half causing the welding to peel a small hole in the exhaust!

It's booked in Wed for a replacement!

You might want to get them to check both the back and middle sections, as mine first started blowing from the middle section which they replaced, all fine then a week later the back section starts to blow!! So back again for that. All fixed now, no charge and they were very efficient in getting me back in again.

I Know this is an old thread, but my JCW exhaust on the GP has cracked and is getting replaced by the dealer (under warranty) after 11,000 miles.

Sounds like the same problem that everybody else has had. I need a balaclava for a few days because of the noise!! Dealer have been good though.
