Offline | Cooper S with Works Kit A quick question here........................ Of all the people on here with Cooper S fitted with a dealer installed Works Kit, what are they shown as on the V5 Log Book? I have got a new R56 and i want to put on the stage 1 Works Kit and iam just wondering if it will just be a Cooper S or will, can it be changed on the V5 to show it as a Works. The reason for the question is that my Ins Co will not insure an S with a dealer fitted Works Kit.....................................they insist that it must come from the factory fitted with the kit. |

Offline | Cheers Scrogg (as always). Strange thing is that they will Insure a Works but NOT an S with the kit as they see it as an inprovement/modification...................................... ....how stupid eh? ![]() So youre basicaly saying that all Works Minis are shown as an S on the V5?. |

Offline | It says Cooper S on my v5, you should try Admiral insurance as thats who I insured my JCW with, they are the cheapest by far and seem to consider the fact that it is a factory spec car and not a mod you have done, hence a better quote. |

Offline | Cheers chaps. Admiral were the first that i called. their underwriters told me that its only the few Factory produced cars that they wil insure. Apart from that, they dont insure any extras as with most companies owned by them and their associated partners. This isnt so good when you have a £22k Cooper S and they will only insure it as a basic car (16K). I did call Adrian Flux and they came in with £460..........extras and all. Doesnt seem toooo bad on the face of it. |
