England JCW Airbox

Ok, I admit I have been mucking about inside my JCW airbox.

I have removed the butterfly flap which opens at 4500 revs and the car is alot smoother at low revs and has a little more pulling power.

I have also removed the rubber bung at the back.

While doing this the tiny air hose at the bottom (1cm thick) has come loose.
The hose comes out of the airbox towards the front of the car and is about 6 inshes long.

I have no idea where this should be attached. It seems to go into the airbox and route to the motor which drove the butterfly flap. but i can not find where the other end goes?

Does anyone have any ideas?

The car is running fine so it doesnt look major.

Cheers....

btw::
my fuel economy seems worse now than before!
I have also bout a GTT air filter to replace JCW one but this mod is not as discrete as i was led to believe. It requres 3 drilled holes in the airbox (covered by shiny black gromits) before it can be fitted.
I will wait until my car is our of warranty before i fit this.

It joins into the rubber hose on the bypass valve.

Quick question.

Does the JCW filter require remapping of the ECU or any other mods i order to get full potential out of it?
And what are the power increases on a stock Mini S?

Just plug the hose with a little screw and clamp it. It helps to activate the flap opening, which you no longer need (vacumn line, so should not be open).

If you remove the airbox housing is it possible to reorganise the vacuum pipes to original configuration. Are the pipes just push fit? Next job ive to do if its possible.
