JCW's Slotted/grooved Discs for r53

I have a new Mini Sidewalk Cabriolet with the JCW's Engine, Exhaust, Brake kit and alloys and was told by BMW that I would have the new JCW's slotted grooved discs but on delivery of the car these were absent. They told me they misinformed me and that in fact the slotted/grooved discs were only for fitting on the new mini variants and that I could not have them.

Despite having bought a new Cooper s Cabriolet for 20 K and adding 10 K of extra's trying to get a single extra penny of f or even a freebie mini accessory was impossible!. They did not even fill the car up with petrol, saying £25's worth is what they give...... and on refueling the car and checking the gauge realised they had put little more in than £15. I'm determind to get my slotted grooved discs which they confirmed would be fitted to the car.

After reading a few posts regarding the new JCW's slotted/grooved discs for the r56 It would seem that these should fit onto the r53 BUT only if it was made after Dec2006, apparantly before 2006 the fixing bolts for the discs were 12mm and the r56 uses a 14mm bolt as well as the r53's built after 2006.

Has anyone out there actually fitted the new JCW's Slotted discs to the r53 and is there any difference between the r53 coupe and the cabriolet regarding the wheel, discs arrangement?

Hi Andrew
They will fit, I have them om my GP.

BMW will probably only supply them, they would not fit mine as they are officially for the R56 only.

Good luck

Alan,

Thats good news. presumably the GP wheel disc arrangement/fixings etc is the same on the GP as my Cabriolet Sidewalk which I believe is a 53 variant. (don't know the correct terminology!, and forgive me I'm not so up to speed on the variants and their differences) .

This should be fun, I know they don't want to do it BUT the sales girls confirmed to me that I would be getting slotted/grooved discs so unless there is a real good reason I think they are going to be legally bound to fit them.

Guess we'll see!

Cheers,

Andrew

EBC Brakes makes the front and rear slotted and dimpled disc's for the R 53 "S" as well as the JCW 06. My rear ones arrived today, the Part # is EBC-GD1008. They were $148 for the pair.
The R-56 rotors only fit the R-53 GP because the GP uses the 14mm lugs, the same size as R-56

Anyone have BMW part #'s for these front/rear slotted/drilled rotors? They'll fit my late '06 JCW with the 14mm bolts.

Blue Cooper I have the slotted rotors on r53

I have an October 2005 build JCW Checkmate. After my dealer told me that they were for R56 I told him they fit all JCW factory brakes. Later 06 Wheel bolts changes don't matter. I have them on my car. I have the old bolt size
