I'm drawn to either the Works upgrade ( but it's too expensive ) or the Hartge ( cheaper but not covered by warrenty )

Question - when I fill in my insurance form - the bit that says 'ANY NON STANDARD MODS?' if I have the Works mod - is that a standard manufactuers mod therefore cheaper to insure? and will the Hartge mod be seen as a boy racer passport? and cost???

The JCW upgrade is group 19 acording to my dealer so when you apply for your insurance I would think that you would just state that it is the JCW MCS and that should be enough, although I have the Hartge upgrade I am not sure on the group rating but my insurers only wanted to know who done the upgrade and there address.

You will probably find that most companies will have the JCW S as a specific car 'MINI insurance' or you will have to put it down as an option i.e like the chilli pack.
