Hey, I think my earlier post earned me an "elitist" label, too. Don't leave me out!

Of course, I wasn't as horribly offensive as RS America was though in his post (I'm being sarcastic of course RS !)

I wonder if everyone fretting about the oh so expensive MCS upgrade has even purchased a base MCS to consider having it installed on? Take some initiative and create a "Send me a dollar so I can buy a MCS + JCW" website so you can see how many people care that you're offended.

For any concerned, I'll buy the JCW upgrade for mine, thrash it on the roads and track for a few years having a stellar time and then when I'm all done I'll sell you mine. Then you can say you have one for a fraction of the price of new.

...this is just rude and hurtful of you. It's one thing to talk about the car and to have differing opinions, but it's another to target other people with such animus. I mean no one any denigration or malevolence by my critique of the Works package's value, which has an appropriate role in this context.

Oh please, I'm not one to continue this but seriously do you go to Porsche Forums and continuously attempt to get them to reduce their prices to the point where you can afford it? It may seem elitist but if you were in the same position to afford something over someone else would you not satisfy your purchase lust?

I have never said that the JCW package is not expensive; it is! What I do say is that there are people out there who can and will pay this price for the car that they want. Indeed a good few of them could afford more expensive cars (and probably have them too) so this kind of money to have the "top of the range" MINI is nothing to them. It may be elitist but that is the nature of the world we live in.

If you can't afford a JCW MCS then do what other people on these forums have been doing and purchase a less expensive upgrade (since the warranty seems to mean little to you). First and foremost however, purchase a MCS in the first place (when you get the money) and discover how good a car it really is in base form. If you still want more power then you have some decisions to make. You never know maybe by that time you'll actually be able to afford the JCW upgrade as well.

All I think is that by beating the same drum over and over again you just annoy and irritate people who already accept your view. I still fail to see why JCW should pander to everyones whims and requirements, if they did the upgrade would be free!

Rude and hurtful? In my opinion everyone here is INCREDIBLY tolerant of your whining about how others are offending and hurting you. Not to mention your absurd remarks about how JCW probably won't survive because of their S Works package pricing. Get a grip, man!

I agree- John Cooper is most famous for the Cooper Climax, one of first successful rear engine open wheel cars that forever changed racing.
He is (was) known for John Cooper Garages, not just the original Mini Cooper.
It wouldn't matter if the JCW kit survives or not, but it already does.
