Is that Factsheet Right - "TOP SPEED 136mph"???
I know its a tad quicker on the 0-60 ,BUT just 1 mph faster than normal!!!


Is this the Kit Ive been reading about in Local Paper tonight, available from Dealerships & covered by TLC warranty {no price given) but gives you 200bhp on MCS?

Liam...You will be able to buy the kit as an option just like any other Mini option. That means you can order it as an extra on a new car or get it retro-fitted to an existing Cooper S.

Restyle...the factsheet shows the actual results of the test which are always less than the claimed figures. Yes this kit is covered by TLC warranty.

I understand from my dealer (BMW information) that the JCW upgrade can not be fitted until the car has been registered.

E mail from JCW today on the availability of their kit (for the MCS I think) they have to ship 750 units for the end of the month. how many for UK do not know. Dealers are not able to order yet until delivery date confirmed. JCW tell me that the kits should be about in early April.

Asked quicker if I had JCW fit the kit to my MCS. Said No is they have 70 to fit taking them through to end of May.

As I am the first one for my dealer I managed to get it all in for £3,500 saving some £250. So worth a try at your local dealer !!

Seems that the kit is selling well. It is the warranty that I go for not the price.

No, they are not. Just what it does and doesn't include has been kicked around ad nauseum over on the "performance and tuning" section of these boards. Or just check out the official John Cooper Works web site...

cheers for the info. My 2p (for what its worth)is that you are just paying for a warranty, in a few years when your factory warranty has expired, you can go to town and get a lot more power for 4k and another thing to consider (god I am getting old) is will the car hold that much a premium over other cars without the kit, I know its not really the point but all in all is it worth the money? to be honest you would get a bit more fun out of it but you would be concentrating a lot more to keep that power in check, I say spend 600notes or whatever it is and get the LSD you could prob get that through on the sly. and this would make an S go quicker A-B than a coop S with the works conversion, anyway thats what i am thinking any ideas?
