MPG from MCS Works

Very interested in moving up to the MCS Works (saving hard at the mo!!) and was wondering what mpg I should expect to get from the car once the kit has been fitted. I have been keeping a log of my current fuel consumption and am averaging about 28mpg in mixed driving. I have read some reports where the average for the Works was as low as 24mpg and in hard driving could drop to 18mpg. Question to all you lucky Works owners - what mpg are you seeing from yours?

I am not sure of the exact figure but one word should sum it up...."few"!! I barely get 200 miles to the tank....but then I do tend to drive it hard.....c'mon....its a Works, you have to drive it hard!!

I'm averaging between 26.6 and 27.1 at the moment.... the Works is meant to be more economical than a standard S I've been told... sounds like you're doing pretty well! I think the consumption will improve marginally once she's run in (another 700 miles..). I got 225 out of my tank at the weekend - a combination of motorway, London and country roads.

I'm being careful with her, but not that careful!

I think that the WKS S might be more ecomomical on paper but it is sooooo much fun that you drive it like a nutter and it drinks gas. At 56mph in 6th its porbably very frugal but I suspect mine never sees that situation!

I get 240 miles and around 30 mpg on motorway, A-road driving.
I've never seen lower than 26 which was after a B-road blast.
Average is probably around 28.

I'm obviously not driving it hard enough!

My OBC consistantly gives 30 to 32mpg I suspect it is nearer 28mpg But unless you fill it up you can`t go anywhere Don`t worry about MPG just soak up the factor and enjoy on of the world`s most unique cars

In city, I get around 22-24mpg. Highway, it's more like 30. However, mine is pretty new...only ~800 miles on the clock...it may change over time.

Over the life of mine (now 13000 miles) I've got 27 mpg. However it varies depending on the type of driving as you'd expect. Last month I've done a lot of motorway driving and got about 31 mpg. Hope this helps

My Cooper S averages 32-33 mpg. On one 200-300 mile trip, I got 37 mpg traveling 70-80 mph. On the way back, it was down to 34 but that was going 80-85+ the whole way.

My Cooper S JCW is still being run in but I am lucky to average much better than 24 - 25 MPG.....

I hear they tend to get better with mileage but it's never going to fall into the economical bracket!!

Ecotec Valve may help...? http://www.ecotekplc.com/fuel_saving.htm Cusromer service at BMW response to warranty question was "As BMW has not tested this product we would not recommend fitting this to your vehicle. You warranty would not be invalidated if you do have this value fitted, however, we would reserve the right to reject any claim where it is felt that the cause of the defect is due to the use of a non-approved part or it's fitting".

Hope this helps...
Happy mini motoring...
