works cooper s 204 bhp

204 bhp is the offical power of the s works kit according to michael cooper but no price yet and the only cooper s price he knows is 14,500 nothing yet on any options/packs
he has asked but has not been told anything as yet

He told me this on saturday when I had a test drive in a
works cooper (faster then my cooper but not super fast)

I also watched the aus cooper challenge
(copy playing in showroom)

looked like a lot of fun michael came 3rd
he talked the race through as I watched it , he had a mini club there that day and after the video he asked a question about the video and the bloke that got it correct went out in a works cooper with mr cooper and had the sh*t scared out of him

eg every corner side ways at 90

so mini 2 member going down there you might get the chance
to go out in a cooper with mr cooper if you answer the question correct (I wont say what the question is)

How much more is the Works Cooper than the standard Cooper? I'd expect the same price hike for the Works S... Any ideas when it will be available, and whether it could be ordered thru a MINI dealer?

My thinking is that if I'm gonna have to wait another 18 months to swap my Cooper for a Cooper S, I might as well go one step better and go for a Works S (insurance permitting of course!).

Any info or speculation would be great!

Gromit's evil plan

is to get the "S" now and add a JCW conversion when it becomes available. It will be able to be fitted later, so why wait?

jcw works pack including cost of new cooper £13995.00

no dates on s conversion but i think the conversion is in its final stages so should be ready by launch date of the s in the uk

I'd like it fitted before I take delivery, but according to my information the works kits wont be coming to oz until after the S starts leaving dealers. I'll take that as something like 12 months later. Never mind. Alpina may have reared it's head by then........

I knew you meant the MINI Alpina, but I was just wondering if that came out in the EU, UK & Australia...then would it make it to our shores? Sure perhaps the ///M and DINAN's we'd get...but the Alpina, probably not.

Well, theres a few Alpina model 3 series cars knocking around here. They may be personal imports. But I would imagine that the Alpina MINI would be seen in a slightly different light as far as World markets were concerned.

Yes the M Power BMW's are sold through dealers here. So A Cooper M????.....hmm what would they call it I wonder.

Mike Cooper said today (in Aberdeen)...

Mike Cooper is hoping to get official approval from BMW on their range of products for the in November. This would make them like the M offshoot for the Mini. He also said that when they perfect the works kit for the Cooper S, it is going to have two exhausts on each side, like the M3 & M5. When they get the official sanction from BMW, the car fitted with the kit will then qualify for TLC.

Did he happen to mention whether an S with TLC will be allowed to transfer the TLC when a Works Kit is added after purchase (say 6-12 months after original purchase)?

Just wondering. Great news by the way, I was bit concerned about the whole TLC thing.
