Offline | Nice car you have there ! I should get my MINI on tuesday and it's got pretty much the same specs including the Works. I will have to wait till the end of September to have the Works kit fitted . That will give me the opportunity to test the regular engine for awhile. I was supposed to get the car today but I'm having the wheel arches painted body colour and it's been so humid around here the last few days that the paint has a hard time drying out completely. We decided to wait a few days just to be sure. In the meantime my dealer gave me a Cooper S till my car is ready....nice. |

Offline | That may not be such a bad thing. For whatever reason my dealer recommended doing at least 3000kms before fitting a Works kit. Any word on the final hp and other specs for 2005 JCWs? |

Offline | Thank you for all the great comments. EFMP = Electric Folding Mirror Pack. The abbreviation was from my dealer. I thought it must be a standard term. The dealer also said the Works would be 210bhp and is being launched Sept 6th. Since I'm getting my mini from JCW I guess they should know ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | Hello all, Been lurking here a while, whilst waiting to collect my 2003 Cooper S Works. So, thought I'd add to this thread (the other new owners thread seems to have been hijacked!) I am now the proud owner of: 2003 John Cooper Works. bought it with 13k miles on the clock from John Coopers N° 1,078 Dark silver, black roof + mirrors Chili pack, aero package 16" X-lites Dark glass, John cooper works seats, silver dash cassette / cd changer radio boost manual a/c which was almost exactly the spec I would have ordered for a new one (which I thought about). Only the HK sound is missing. Anyway, after 1 weekend driving the car around Kent, I am very pleased. I have 'traded down' about 120bhp from my previous car, but I'm having just as much fun, even more on the really twisty B-Roads. Absolutely fanastic handling, and great interior (helped by the works seats which are soooo good) I have a couple of issues with, you guessed it, the run-flats and the driver window but I'll save those for other threads. SB14, hope the wait is not getting to you! It drove me nuts and I only waited 3 weeks |

Offline | Raify - I take it that you are the other M Coupe deserter How are you finding the "lack" of power in the Mini? I got my new Cooper S last week, but am still waiting for my Works kit to be delivered to the dealer - I'm really looking forward to that getting fitted. It's a little strange being back in FWD, but I'm enjoying the whole Mini driving experience a whole lot so far. |

| MINI2 Regular | Hi MCBert, Yep, I'm the other breavan refugee! I've got to say, that apart from a drag race in a straight line I've hardly noticed the departure of the 120 ponies! I've really noticed how chuckable it is, so much more than the ZM. It's not been that long since I had a Clio 172 Cup, so the change isn't that bad. after some pretty serious abuse on roundabouts and twisty roads, the ASC light has only flickered on once or twice! very impressed with the chassis set-up. I'm quite jealous that you get to try a standard S and then 'upgrade' to the works package! It will be really nice to get your car back with extra ooomph! Have fun. Milhouse: "We have to spread this stuff around - let's put it on the internet!" Bart: "No, we have to reach people whose opinions actually matter." |
