It might be slightly different if you buy your Cooper S from them.

Hi Pav,

I've ordered my car direct from JCW. I'm also 2nd or 3rd on the list, so hopefully It should arrive in September ( fingers crossed ).

I would imagine its a similar situation to the standard Works. You could directly order the car from JCW, but the conversion game along some time later ?

Cheers

Michael

mmm. so do i order from JCW and get my car in jan/feb, or order locally, get car in october and save for conversion in jan/feb?! decisions decisions..

i'm down at JCW for a test-drive in september, with southern mini owners club, so i'm sure you're car should be ready then. did you order a year ago as your post suggests? if so, good on you sir.

Hi Pav,

Yep I ordered my car last August. Its been a long wait, but i'm sure it will be well worth it Only two'ish months to go.

I think if you order a Works S now, you will be waiting a little longer the Jan/Feb. I maybe mistaken, but I seem to remeber hearing, that if you order it now you will probably get it around November time next year ! Either way it will be worth having 200BHP+ MINI with JCW heritage, awesome

Richard quoted me Jan / Feb a couple of weeks ago but I'm going to get it standard to start with.. So I can fully enjoy the drive down to JCW - and then seriously enjoy the drive away. Wonder whether I'll have to run-in the conversion? I wouldn't have though so. You going for all DS too?

I must be mistaken on the dates front . I'm not sure if you would have to run the works package in ? I guess you would as there would be new components in the engine ?

I've gone for the all DS look. Not seen any in the flesh though, only photo shop pictures. What spec are you going for ?

I'm still not sure what the Works package consists of yet either, or performace figures ? although I'm sure it will be fun

My spec is:

DS/DS (or DS black if I get carried away and order the sroof)
Chilli
All black, half leather (satellite i think?)

But what I really care about is how soon that Works conversion can be had. We (southern mini owners club) got a sneaky preview of Mike Cooper's development Works Cooper (see my photo gallery) last time round. We have a similar thing lined up for this September.

I saw the development car in the workshop a few months ago, looks good, although when I saw it they were trying different exhausts, and just had two center one on

Can't wait to have a go in one

Cheers

Eliseboy,

Those 4 pipes are only on the development version, they are not being carried over to the production version.

I actually quite like the two central pipes

Cheers

Michael, are you sure?

When I spoke to the guys at JC they said that it would have the 4 pipes?

that would be a shame, and was one of the reasons why i thought it would cost so much

Works S Spec

Been reading your posts with interest. I'm waiting for the first production works S and maybe a few months for JCW to sort out bugs etc. What sort of spec are you all going for? Luxury or racer? My current cooper has got most optional goodies, but I am thinking to go "native" and spec myself a mean super-lightweight works S: no sun roof, no aircon, superleggera rims, upgraded brakes, stealth black (same as current cooper).
