Lohen Launches Brand New Media Section On Our Website!



If you want vehicles to tickle your fancy, products to pull at those purse strings or events to get your spine tingling, then look no further! Not one to rest on our laurels, Lohen's been working on new, dynamic ways to detail information on cars and events we've been involved with. Featured Car: Superbly-Styled, Chris Lake, Gen1 Cooper S



This month's featured car takes a slightly different turn to last month's. If you recall, we demostrated how easily your car can become a replica of a tried and tested model with Lohen's help. But this month, we're showing you how Lohen can help with every step of creating something sublime and completely unique!

Enter Chris Lake and his Gen1 Cooper S. Chris, who goes by the nickname lammy, previously owned a Black ONE but when he saw the British Racing Green monster, he knew he had to have it! Not one to remain generic, Chris turned to Lohen for expert advise on some unique styling modifications for his pride and joy.

Chris says: "I guess you could say the styling of my MINI is unique. I'm a big fan of the BMW aero kit but the only problem is every body has got them so I had to make it my own. The front bumper has got an M7 upper, mid and lower grills and a carbon fibre front splitter. The side skirts have JCW illuminated door sills and the rear bumber has got the Lohen "lo-drag" conversion. To top off that lot I have the JCW carbon fibre roof spoiler."

He has plenty of under-the-bonnet stuff done, too. "I came up to Lohen this year: in fact my MINI was the first job of 2008 which is a claim to fame! I had fitted 15% reduced super charger pulley, 3% enlarged and lightened crank pulley, Denso iridium spark plugs an KV85 spark plug leads."

But it's obvious his car's styling is a personal highlight. He continues: "The thing I’m most proud of is the 8x18 inch Alpina Dynamic alloy wheels. These are the genuine item, not replicas. As far as I’m aware there's only 107 minis in the UK with these alloys on so, with all these things combined, I'm fairly confident that my MINI is one of the most unique in the country!"

After picking up a GRS Intercooler from Lohen, Chris has hinted his next project will be a manifold to hear that exhaust coming a mile off! Polar Bear Fast Becoming A Star Of The Show-Car Line Up!



Our Gen2 Cooper S seems to have it's paw in every pie at the moment! Following a busy March, our Polar Bear has been the subject of several discussions with magazine editors and we're pleased to give you details of where it, and Lohen, will soon appear!

In this month's edition of Modern MINI Magazine you can find a write up on the Snetterton Track Day where the Gen2 stretched its legs: this is available to buy in shops now! The feature on the car itself will follow in an upcoming edition. We were delighted to be approached by Performance & Styling Magazine who have given the Bear it's first front page cover and a great story to accompany it. And, whilst primarily available to trade, it demonstrates the strength of the car based on last month's mailshot. And, as if that weren't enough, Performance Tuner is doing a feature on Lohen and a further one on the Gen2 very soon. With a schedule like that, it seems our Bear gets around more than Paddington!

DB Rally & Lohen Coffee Morning



I'm sure most were nervous when they awoke to a snowy Sunday morning, but hopefully the DB Rally crew found the caffeine and reception much warmer when they came to visit Lohen this month. There's never a dull moment with the guys and gals from DB Rally: the range of cars was fantastic, a real MINI fan's delight! They got the chance to see our Clubman up close and personal, and discuss their modifying options with the team. A great morning was had by all.

Featured Product: Eibach Anti-Roll Bars



To quote Daft Punk.... Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger... and who wouldn't want that? Well now you can have it by fitting Eibach anti-roll bars to your MINI! When you start to uprate your power and suspension, you may experience 'lift' when going through a corner: these anti-roll bars help to reduce it.

Here's the technical bit. This kit reduces body roll when driving through corners or changing direction quickly. At these times, the 'load' of the car can shift decreasing tyre contact with the road surface, which reduces grip. This reduced grip limits your cornering speed: the addition of the anti-roll bar kit keeps the car 'flatter' to the road (i.e. with increased tyre contact) and therefore improves your cornering speed and confidence. It's a win-win situation: your car will handle better through the faster turns but wont feel harsh in a straight line during relaxed driving. This kit includes front and rear anti-roll bars: the front is 25mm thick and the rear is 19mm thick.
