Help!!! Window frame plastic faded!!!

Help!!! I used some window grease remover on my front windshield, but I got some on the black area next to the window as well... You know... The smooth plastic area that is to the right and left of the windshield. (maybe it's called the a-frame???)

I thought I had washed everything off pretty well, but today I noticed that the once smooth and shiny black area had become a little greyed and lost a little smoothness... Almost as if it ad been sand papered... I think the de-greaser must have done it, but ultimately it was my fault...

Anyways, now I'm wondering about restoring the plastic area to it's original smooth and shiny blackness... Any help???

Worst case senario... Is the black area just a cover? Can it be replaced?

I tried some aerospace 303 on it and it seemed to help... I think I'll replace the a-pillar trim... Anybody do that before?
