Offline | Bodywork repair - looking for garage in West London Hi all - i hope you can help. Some blighter scrapped down the side of my MCS in the local supermarket. They left without a trace except for the damage. I am going to Mini Chiswick tomorrow for a quote. My question to the forum is does anyone know of a good alternative to the BMW"remortgage your house" rates? Any help appreciated. cheers - Jamie. |

Offline | When I bought my ONE second hand it had a big 'argument with a lamp post' dent in the back and damaged paintwork right across the bottom of the passenger side. About a week later, I had the misfortune of driving over a ruddy great tree branch which was in the middle of a very dark road which took out the lower part of the front bumper and ripped up my radiator. I got the accident damage repaired through my insurance company but I asked the repairer for a quote on the other stuff seeing as it was in. The work was absolutely superb, came back looking like new and they did me a cash price (ie without the VAT) of just over £600. My local BMW quoted £1500 and said I would need a new rear bumper, which in itself is about £450! Well the 'approved repairer' just mended it along with the passenger side door and wing and the rear driver side wing with the big dent. It took a couple of extra days but I already had a courtesy car from my insurer ![]() So the magic name, you ask? It may be a little further than you were after but it is A.S.T. Wembley, 10/11 Watkin Rd HA9 Tel:020 8903 8414 And just a word of advice about supermarket car parks and the like...I've had a bit of a dink from someone opening a door into mine (luckily, not too noticeable) so I park across 2 spaces a bit further from the entrance. The extra 30 seconds of walking is worth coming back to a pristine car each time. Remember that you can't do this in public car parks where you pay to park - you have to take your chances in those I'm afraid! Good luck with the repair... Married to my MINI |

Offline | Yes, I second that. Very professional and excellent job. When someone smashed into the back of my other car, I insisted the insurance company to have the repair done by them. Alan (the boss I think) is a nice guy. They are near Wembley Stadium Get a quote |

Offline | Great - Thanks so much. Wembley is fine for me as I live in Ealing. It's not that I want to cut corners but A-Am not impressed with the service I have recieved from HR Owen Mini chiswick and B-realy don't want to pay the rip off repair rates of the stealers. i have 4 years NCB and my insurer wouldn't let me protect until I have 5yrs!! So if I claim I loose 2 years. I'm trying to get my NCB up as I am saving for a 993 in 2007. The MCS is to be kept but my S3 will go. Must say I've had some nice cars but the MCS is the best. It always put's a smile on my face. The only down point is the seats, the lumbar feels to far up the back. Anyway sorry for the waffle, I'm off to phone A.S.T! |
