Removing Persistant Alloy Stains!???

Anyone know the best product to get rid of persistant alloy stains! Please see attached, tried a few things now and it won't go!

Basically little speckles of brake dust stuck on the wheel!

Personally I use Turtle Wax Extreme Wheel cleaner, it does the job without being too harsh on the alloys and their coating. A lot of folks love Wonder Wheels, but it can dissolve coatings and lead to the wheels loosing shine and protection, which long term isnt good. If you've tried everything else then there are a few places that can refurb the wheels, usually at a cost of between £30 and £50 per wheel. The process involves having the wheels sandblasted and then recoated with laquer. Not cheap but cheaper than buying a full set of new wheels!

Take the wheel of the car and give it a really good scrub. This is much easier once the wheel is off the car. I would try some AG tar spot remover and see if that works. I have ismilar spots and am going to give that a go when its drier.

I use wonder wheels. I've heard about the supposed harshness of it but haven't seen the proof of that claim.

I use Wonder Wheels too. You just have to be careful to keep the solution applied to the wheel wet and not to let it dry out. The little ingrained speckles are brake dust that has pitted and dissolved into the wheel. I find that one of those bug sponges with webbing over it is the best solution and a hell of a lot of elbow grease. Don't rub too hard. Oh and using my fingernails to gentle remove them works too. Best thing to prevent future occurence is regular wheel cleaning and a coating of wax on the wheels.

Don't bother with the off the shelf products. They're all pretty much the same.

You need some Meguiars Wheel Brightener. It's what the professionals use. You mix it 4:1 with water to start with. If it's really stubborn brake dust mix it a bit stronger.

Your wheels will be fantastically clean again.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Mini does a similar product that works well.

The other thing to try is the cleaning pads for use on plastic baths.
