I remain unconvinced and sceptical. I've no doubt that it works but wouldn't be happy to try it on the paintwork of my cars.

Wouldn't fancy using it on anything but already dirt-free paintwork!
Amorall have done a product called "Car Wash Wipes" for a while now but I think they recommend hosing your car off before use which kind of defeats the object!

It looks similar to Meguiars quick detailer. If the cars really dirty then you'd surely have to wash it but the Meguiars stuff is good for summer use when its mostly dust and light dirt. With the Meguiars the secret is the use of 100% terry towelling to wipe the car with, apparently because the towelling has a 'pile' the dirt doesn't sit on the surface and scratch the car.

As with any car care product the applicator method is what causes "swirl" marks not the product.

Personally I would recommend mf's but not the cheapo ones from the supermarkets - they have too rough an edging.
terry toweling is also good, but you do get the product you pay for..

My furniture (I haven't got a wallnut table) does not get subjected to the elements like my cars. Fine grit from the road does not find its way to my furniture.

Come on Drywashcars! Convince us! Rubbing dirty paintwork with a cloth and not scratching it is a hard concept to grasp i'm sure you'll appreciate! (i bet you deal with loads of skeptics!) How does the product move the grit away from the paintwork?

The car washing service in the parking lot where I work uses this kind of system only. I can only assume they have happy customers as it seems to thrive. being the conservative and cheap git I am though, have yet to try them.

I'm unhappy about them flogging the idea of hosepipe bans to death. Even in the South East of England there's nothing to stop you from using a bucket of water and a watering can.

I don't know how grubby they think cars get, but it wouldn't make any impression on the caked on crud (or worse!) that we get from the lanes around here

And, from an environmental point of view, I'd take a bucket of rainwater collected in the waterbutt over whatever chemicals are used in that spray anyday!

Tigger.

Miracle Dry Wash? Water in a spray bottle? Didn't look very dry being sprayed out of a hand-held spray bottle.

If you have caked on mud, remove it before you spray on .

According to website

- what with? hosepipe? bucket of water & sponge? chisel it off?

The only ways to wash the car properly is with plenty of running water, ie hosepipe. I do sympathise for peeps down south with the hosepipe bans, luckily were still ok here in Staffs, however if we get the ban too then the only thing I can think of is a garden pump sprayer, so I will be using one of those with a watering can to swill the car off.

I notice in the pic on the website that the Porsche looks pretty clean to me prior to it being cleaned lol. I just hope that peeps don't end up with scratched cars. I have always been cautious with the MER polish that says you can apply even when the paintwork is dirty

No probs Phil, i must say that although i haven't used this product i have regularly used Meguiars quick detailer which seems to be a similar set up.I know from personal experience that this kind of cleaning does work with out ruining your paint.I previously had a black MO which was obviously a pain to keep clean but the stuff i was using worked well.I found it was really good for regular use, once the car had been left for a while with dirt on then its going to need a proper wash. The only times i had real problems with scratches was when the dealer used to put it through their car wash, the one that couldn't possibly be scratching my car because "we put our most expensive BMW's through it".On those few occasions i had to use Meguiars scratch x which worked brilliantly and got rid of all the swirls.
