1st Inspection Service - When?

I've got a January 2004 MINI One (which is for sale incidentally ). It has done 16,000, and has had one oil service, which I think was at about 10,000 miles. The oil service indicator is showing about 7,000 miles until the next oil change, which is fine.

However, I've just had a look in my tlc booklet and am a little worried about the 1st inspection service. When should this be carried out?

Many thanks in advance.

My Inspection I was due at about 23,000.
The service indicator should be telling you about 7,000 miles to Inspection I
rather than 7,000 to the next oil service.

Ah, I think actually it does say inspection, but I can't be certain. I will check shortly.

Thanks cristo, you were right. It says inspection in 7,125 miles. That would make sense.

Thanks.

I was actually enquiring because I've sold the car and I was wondering whether I'd made a mistake with regard to TLC timing. Luckily, I hadn't, and there's still 7,000 miles before the inspection.

Just had my 1st oil service. Do you normally get a copy of the TLC invoice to show what they have done? I didn't

You won't get an invoice, as you're not paying for anything, but you should have both your Service Book and TLC Voucher Book stamped and dated accordingly.

If you ask your dealer there is no reason why they can't give you a copy of the Service Checklist they use that shows what has been done.

United-States Maintenance schedule question

I bought my MINI S 02 about 3 months ago. It is now due for the 30K INSP I. Eric at Moritz MINI
of Arlington Tx, quoted $400. Since I have just recently acquired my MC, I need to be enlightened on costs without sounding too ignorant to those persons at the Service Department!
Can anyone clue me in on cost expectations. The car was missing the manual and maintenance books so I 'm pretty much in the dark-and ignorance ain't bliss in this case! I'm glad to have become a part of this group-thanks.

You can access the manuals through MINIUSA.com's Owners Lounge site (does require registration with your VIN #) or find them on Motoringfile (link on lower right side of their main page)
MotoringFile

Congrats on your new Mini!
