Mini Warranty...Doh!

I've forgotted to renew my Mini Warranty and I am now without it! They said their insurer only allows continuous enrolment so I can't renew it.

Have I really messed up or do you think its a waste of money? I was looking though the exclusions and a lot of stuff is on there. I already have breakdown assistance so not fussed about that part.

Have any of you guys done the same thing? Are there any companies out there that would be willing to do this service?

Cheers.

I didn't bother renewing mine. It seemed a bit steep at £500+ for the year.
There are quite a few things that aren't covered. In the first three years I only used the warranty twice, and those claims would have cost about £50 each.

I would have definitely renewed it, its only about £380 a year, the other £120 odd is for breakdown cover. The newer MINIs seem more reliable then the older ones(01-02), even so after my experience of a gearbox going 12 months out of warranty I am slightly biased.

Thanks to RVW. I've had a look at their web site and it seems pretty much the same as what BMW offer. I get recovery service with bank account so this is saving me £200 odd a year!

£500 sounds like a deposit on a new Mini (what a great idea)

Got a letter from BMW inviting to extend the warranty for £500 plus for a year. What is off puting is there is a £100 policy excess ! Really makes it unattractive. Stop reading after this !

i will be renewing mine this time round as i didnt bother with it when i had my cooper but a few months after it ran out my CV's went both sides... plus a few other little things...

didnt get them fixed as i got rid of the cooer to get the S but it would have been an expensive fault to fix..

EMPTY SPACE NEEDS FILLING....
but it has to be something that wont get me banned

England Worryanty without one

I renewed my MINI Warranty at the beginning of April 2006, as about a year ago my Head Gasket went and would of cost loads to fix, but it was under warranty at the time. My MINI was always going in for warranty work to be including CV joints, wheel bearings just to name a few . I would be with out a warranty even it it costs £100 excess just wait for a few things to go wrong and pay one excess fee. Because i am sure things will go wrong with my car anyway. Just glad the new MINI mk2 is coming out relatively soon...
