Leather or is it vinyl?

Is the leather Mini use on their sports seats actually leather or is it vinyl? Just wondering as I was going to purchase some zymol leather treatment stuff for my seats which are beginning to show their age at 35000 miles, especially the drivers seat RHS leg bolster.

Or what would anyone recommend using to treat the leather in my mini?

Don't wait for leather to wear before treating it

I can't comment on those mentioned so far, but the best I've tried so far is Simoniz Leather Care; it's a doddle to apply, makes the leather very supple and doesn't leave the leather all shiny!

On 95% of cars the top surfaces that your bum directly sits on and your back touches are leather. The rest of it is normally leatherette/fake.

Does supple mean baggy? I hate the baggy look of the seats...

The leather on all MINI seats seems prone to getting baggy. In other cars (and even in the Park Lane) the leather has panels which allow the seat to change shape without stretching the leather. On our MINIs the leather is tight across the seat and the only way it can "stretch" when we sit on them is by the leather stretching.

As the leather in my MINI has become more supple it seams to be more "elastic". Consequently, it seems to return to the correct shape more readily when I get up. I am not saying it's the cure, but it seems to help, rather than make the problem worse.

Tigger.

PS: It's true, most manuacturers use a lot of vinyl in the "leather" seats I can tell you that the only bit of vinyl I've found is on the underside of the head restraints and on the edges between the rear seat backrests. Brilliant

I have noticed that since using a shed load of gold class leather care on mine the leather looks more taught and feels alot nicer.

Sorry to barge in, but it is related. What options for upholstery do you get in the UK? Here in Canada you have two no-cost options; Leatherette or cloth. Cloth leather costs $750 CDN and full leather $2200 CDN.

*is jealous of people having cloth options*

in the US, the options are leatherette for free or leather for some large extra amount.
