Question 'Dents' in leather seats

Hi guys,

Just put my Cooper in part ex for a Cooper S which has full leather seats. On the rear seats are several small 'dents' in the leather. No holes or scratches just pressure dents.

Anyone know if it's possible to remove them?

TIA

I've tried massaging them out with a little bit of leather conditioner and its helped. Time also helps, or has for me in the past.

They're likely from child seats - that's where mine have come from.

This is a common problem with leather (especially the MINI leather, which isn't the greatest). As recommended, try using some leather conditioner to soften the leather.

Suzrider: are they like this (the "lines" on the front left of the driver's seat):-

I want to know how to get rid of these too - I've only had my JCW seats for a couple of weeks and they're like this already!

Sorry Mark, mine are dents not ripples or creases like yours appear. If you imagine someone pressed the blunt end of a pencil or key into the surface. I'll try gently massaging the marks with leather conditioner as suggested and let you know if it helps.

Thanks guys

I know that ice cubes remove indents from carpets if allowed to melt they return the pile to its previous state, but not sure if temperature change could do the same for leather

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

try using a hairdryer, do not get it to close. Use a magic cloth and a spray with cold water.
First heat it the spray the water on to cool it down and massage the water of. Try this 2-3 times. DONT GET TO CLOSE ! This works, trust me lear corp uses this mehode to remove wrinkels and dents in the seats, but with a heatblower.

Yes, what you all need to think about is that every leather seat has a thin laminat plastic over the leather itself. If you get to close this will start to "mealt" when this accures you can ruin the leather. I have done this methode on my leather seats in my Volvo and on mu leather sofa... No problems but take it slow and easy.

Looks like heat is the key! I tried massaging the marks with leather conditioner and had very little success. But yesterday was hot and sunny and the leather was really warm and supple and the dents had almost lifted themselves. A little massaging and they're almost gone.

Thanks again for the tips

I know but spray it down with some water before massaging the leather if you try the blowdryer methode.
