Hi all Yesterday, I purchased "Back to Black" by UK company Carplan. Gave the bumpers, sills etc a coat last night and all looking pretty good now. May need a second coat and then a finish off with the Auto Glym stuff.....but I am a lot happier! Cheers Gaz

Use Rubber Care made by Wurth (a German Co.) It removes the wax and leaves no residue. My body shop guy got me onto this product. Sorry it took so long to post. The whole world is buzzing about the MINI! 2002 MINI Cooper black w/yellow stripes 2000 Miata Evolution Orange EO2K project car 1996 XJ6

Meths ? I Used methylated spirits to soften the wax (Autoglym) and then cleaned the arches with Autoglym Fast glass, the arches are now spotless. I don't know if this is recommended by a paint shop or whoever but it cleaned the wax off. You have to be careful not to get it on the paint and do it at your own risk

peanut butter Believe it or not..I actually used penut butter a couple of weeks ago to remove wax from my black wheel well trim and it worked great. Followed with a back to black (Mcguires I think) treatment.Just took a small amount of peanut butter on my fingertip and rubbed on the trim.

WAX ON, WAX OFF I'm surprised no one mentioned using Klasse All-in-One. On my '86 535i the rubber bumpers had wax marks on it that only Klasse got rid of permanantly. I use this stuff on everything non-porous, including glass. HIghly recommended. Not cheap, but last a long time. BrunoBMW

I use Griot's "Best of Show" wax and it does not leave marks on the trim. Ken Shapiro Electric Blue w/ Sport Package...first "S" delivered in Maryland (5/10/02) I've been everywhere but the electric chair...I've seen everything but the wind.

Forget about "Back to Black"...it washes off if it rains and oes not last long at all. Back to Black only hides the problem but fails to clean the contamination and oxidation off the plastic trim. I just used a product called "Vinylex" by Lexol and it is fantastic. Now all my exterior black plastic pieces look better than showroom now and even better all wax, oxidation and contamination has been completely removed from the surface...just pure black color awesome!. Vinylex has UV protection that ensures a long lasting application and beauty of your black plastic trim. Vinylex can be bought at Pep Boys stores. Check out: www.lexol.com Vinylex can also be used to clean and maintain your leatherette seats and all other plastic interior trim. They also sell a formula specially made for leather surfaces. Don't waste your time with "Back to Black", spend the extra $4 or $5 bucks and get Vinylex instead. '02 MINI Cooper CVT On Order: 2004 MCS (Est production date: 9/5/03)
