DIY Car Covers

Hi, I was just wondering about car covers, I dont have a garage; I have searched maintenance, but didn't find anything, sorry to start a new thread.

Anyone have any experience with them; Good Points, Bad points you want to share?

I'm thinking of getting an OUTDOOR car cover to keep the crap off it, especialy as winter is nearing; I just wanted to know wether it's a decent way of keeping the elements, namely Bird Poo (arggh i hate bird poo) of my paintwork. Just wondering about condensation, moisture build-up, materials scratching paintwork etc.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, Thanks in advance.

You can't put a car cover on a dirty car because the paint will get scratched.
