Coolant change

I've got my inspection II service coming up soon (51,000). I have bought the TLC XL which obviously coveres the service, but the service manager said the coolant change will also be due and is not included with the tlc xl. Does anyone know how much extra this will be or should I get this done at a non franchise garage?

Hey Alfie - not sure where abouts you are in West Yorks but in Huddersfield there's an indepentant BMW garage run by a mechanic who worked at Almondbury BMW for 15 years - he's on the Tandem ind est just off Wakefield Road near Waterloo.
Spoke to him the other week about him serviceing my car when it comes backf from the bodyshop and he seems a descent guy

if it's just a top up you want then either mix some coolant and water then pour it in or just add water if it's not much

A coolant check/change is supposed to be a part of Inspection II. However, the coolant shouldn't need to be changed until after 100,000 miles.
