Offline | Can TLC be extended? Hi Have just purchased a second hand mini one, got all the TLC vouchers and had them changed into my name but can anyone tell me whether I can extend or take out a new TLC once this one expires? Any advice appreciated. Cheers Mack |

Offline | I bought it about 3 months ago now, when normal ran out, havent used it yet, but I wondered if you can get extended-extended tlc? I've just got to 52K, on a 02 plate that I bought about 18 months ago, Ive done about 35K in that time, so will probably run out of tlc xl in about another year, not sure if I will continue with the mini or not then. |

![]() The Muffin Man | I am pretty sure that if you havent already extended the TLC before 50,000 miles then you cant opurchase the TLC XL. Thats what my local dealer told me anyway. And as it happened i had 500 miles to go before i wouldnt be able to purchase the xl, and i didnt have £300 handy lol so i have had to go without. Thats why i most likely wont be takeing it to a dealer for any work i have done as they told me without the tlc is will cost £280 for an oil change. No thank you lol. |

| Beer Society President... | Pretty sure that you can extend TLC after 50k miles providing it hasn't been serviced since... Also does anyone know if there is an 'overdue' time on TLC servicing, like if its more than 2,000 miles over due they won't do it? Not sure but need to find out! |

Offline | I think you can extend TLC to TLC XL any time before the first TLC XL service is due. see MINI - MINI Cooper - Servicing - MINI tlc XL R56 AB Cooper |

Offline | I got the TLC XL before I reached 50K, was at about 44K, I have now done about 52K, I just wondered if after the TLC XL runs out is that it for service option, is it then a individual service cost? I would guess so, not seen any mention of servicing after TLC XL |

Offline | Reckon an extra 3 years at £300 is worth it? Have many people had more (or less) than £300 worth of work done in that 3 years? Mine expires in January, undecided as to whether it would be worth it or not... ![]() ![]() |

![]() The Muffin Man | Thats a quote from the mini website. I could be wrong but to me that means that you can buy it when the original tlc pack is purchased. Or.... you can purchase it at any time during the original tlc's life (which is 3 years or 50,000 miles). This is why i believe that it cant be purchased after 50k. I was also told this by my local dealer ![]() |

Offline | I thought the TLC means the servicing is free. So depends which service it was in for to what they did, so if first oil service its going to be oil and oil filter, and the rest as per what is done in your service book. I think they check brakes etc on certain services, and if they need doing, these are extra cost items, as normal service charges dont cover brakes and clutch costs, they would always be extra to the service cost. Never let the dealers wash your car, it is likely the trainee/tea maker that does it, or god forbid, sometimes they use a car wash. Yikes. The tlc cost is a bargain, I am sure one oil service and inspection alone would cost that, not alone 3 years or 50k's worth of services. Plus if you are due to sell the car, is a buyer liley to chose a car with a few years worth of servicing for free included, or one that has none. |

Offline | I spoke to Scotthall Borehamwood today about this as I have the same dilemma about whether to buy TLC XL. They contacted BMW and BMW said you can buy TLC XL only if you buy it before the next service of the car after the TLC pack. Also I was told you can only buy the TLC XL pack if your car has done less than 50k. I asked them how much the services cost, and I was told the labour itself for Inspection II and oil change was more than £300 (as labour costs £132 per hour ). So I'm buying the TLC XL next week! ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Ive spoken to 2 dealerships the later being Sytner in Sheffield, and ive checked this twice aswell....as long as you pay for the TLC XL when the first service after 50,000miles your ok, but if you get your car serviced at say 56,000miles and then go back at a later date to purchase it you will be told you cant do that. ![]() ![]() |
