Last TLC Service....How Much After!?

Ive just booked my car in for it's last TLC service at 41000 miles and it's about 3 1/2 years old

Does anyone know the general costs of MINI servicing after the final inspection under TLC?

Im guessin even an oil change it going to be silly money

Im not sure exactly but I’ve just had a service that wasn’t on TLC, my dad paid for it as he took the car in and he said it was roughly a little over £200

That might be the same for me then

I thought it was 5yrs or 50,000 miles it covers Anyone else care to comment, so even if you have used up the vouchers and the car has done less than 50,000miles and is less than 5yrs old you still might have to pay!?

I thought the same too but obviously not. Me and Matt went through it the other night, he’s done almost the same amount of miles as me but has only had 2 services and still has a little while to go until the next one. If he uses his car its only for really long journeys like coming to see me or going to meetings. Where as I use my car every day and do short journeys. So we figured it must have something to do with that, but please someone correct me if I’m wrong.

i think the 5 years / 50k was a general perdiction by mini there i think is always gonna be folk way above and way below that in terms of the cars adptive ECU also adapts the service on your driving style tbh ive not used much of mine as most of my service gets done else where like when i up graded my brakes lohen did my brake fluid service ofr me by changigng the fuild and since im outta warrnty ive got no intention of handing mini service money as ive found a good greman car place in edinburgh

minitorque.com, the site for mini performance, drag racing track days & time attack

its all change for the S, to be revealed soon

Just had this confirmed, the next service ill have to pay for is £250 or take out TLC XL for £300, bit of a con really they dont tell you the brake fluid change eats one of your TLC vouchers

I must say im very annoyed 50,000 miles or 5yrs free servicing simply isnt the case

They have to stamp your service book too so check what has been stamped. I think the voucher book has 3 services and 1 brake fluid change in it. My car has done 42k and just had an oil service and its second brake fluid change (this is done not only on miles but also on age, every 2 years). That made it 3 service vouchers (variable milage as its done on the OBC telling the car when it needs a service, not at a set milage etc) and a brake fluid change that were gone from my book, making it empty.

I was lucky though as my dealer threw in the second brake fluid change for free as it was in for warrantee, service work and MOT anyhow...so no charge...but they'll nail me on my next service I'm sure ::

You'll find that its all down to the car having an intellegent service system. The 50k or 5 years is based on average milage per year (10k) and also on the basis that the perfect driver in the perfect car should need to be serviced at the optimum times 10k, 25k and 50k etc...however if you are a bit heavy on the car or its not quite the perfect laboratory test subject car that they used you'll find the intellegent system tells you to get the car serviced more regular or later...therefore your vouchers go a bit quicker. TBH mine has done 42/43k and is driven pretty hard, runs some tuning gear is used on poor roads, does high milage a year (since I bought it anyhow) and is now 4.5 years old...So mines run out just about right time.

Yeah my service book has been stamped too (3times) Im tempted to get the £250 service and then flog it to be honest

Theres alot of other cars out there for less money, little things like this make me think about swaying away from MINI time to time
