How often do you polish your MINI?

It's time for my MINI to be polished and waxed. SO I was wondering how often do you polish yours!

Every time I wash it - about every second or third week. Not so much in winter though

Every time I wash it.....so that's once a week in between rain showers (twice this weekend because I finished it and what could only have been a Pterodactyl or something of similar size crapped on the roof)

I tend to give my MINI a really good clean every couple of months, which involves a polish and a wax with Autoglym products. In the interim I tend to just wash it.

I don't tend to polish. I use clay, NXT Wax and then P21, although someone on here said NXT wax does have a little polish in it?

Not enough anymore, used to clean her up and wax her at least once a week, now its like once a month.

I often read that people use clay, but what does it actually do? Also, what's P21?

She gets a gd clean and shine on nearly every mini run i go on-so about once a month-and quick cleans inbetween.

Once a year

If your car is polished, sealed and waxed properly then there is no eed to do it any more often.

When i say properly, i mean polished to the polish is worked into the paint, and buffed off completely leaving no residue / holograms etc. Then sealed properly. This will prevent the polished from being removed (as this is exactly whappens when it rains, if you havent applied a sealant on top of your polish). Finally, a "good" caranuba wax to top off. This gives the final shine, provides more protection from the elements and adds to the strength of the sealant.

Depending on the strength of the wax, it will need to be topped up every 2 - 6 months (eg CG XXX Wax every 2 months roughly on a moderately driven car in english weather. Top up Collonite 476S wax every 6 months as it has a very high durability).

Use decent products and do it properly and topping up the wax is all thats needed for a year or so. Aftrer that its best to strip it off and polish her up again. I have collonite wax on my MINI and everytime i wash she looks like she has had a full detail. So i just wash with megs Shampoo+, dry with a poorboys waffle weave and VOILA She looks beautiful

Usually every time I wash it, which at the moment is once a week. Just can't beat the shine you get from a freshly waxed and polished MINI

Also just to add.....

regular waxing (with caranuba wax) will induce "Yellowing" to your MINI. You only need to top up wax when the rain stops beading which means it is wearing off.

er i wash it every week and try to polish it once a month so about evry fourth month

Every week, 'yellowing' what do you mean by that? as i use carnuba wax every week on her

I also clay her often, its fantastic no car should be without it, it takes off all the air pollutions and salt etc and leaves the body work feeling like glass!




can anyone reccomend something i can use to get swirls out of the paint work now? that dosent cost the earth
