alloy Wheel repair

Does anyone know a good alloy wheel repair centre in the NORTHEAST? I have scraped my white alloys and they need repairing quickly cause it looks bad. I live in Washington, Tyne and Wear, if that is any help.

Chips Away are quite expensive but they make a grand job

Don't rule out your local dealer... Most large dealerships with a bodyshop will repair wheels onsite, they would normally charge circa £50 per wheel (plus you get a warranty on their work)

try dabbing on some white gloss paint, or an artic white touch up stick from MINI (£8) it hides the exposed grey alloy till you get them properly fixed.

guys i am having mine repaired this Saturday by chips away. I have the r90's with the polished look rim with laquer on it. Will they be able to match the same finish with laquer etc on it as the other 3? as wicked wheels and a few others have said they cannot match the same shade of silver so would have to do all four!

I probably best qualified on this one seen as I've just had mine done

The OEM finish on the R90s is a laser cut aliminium rim which is lacquered. Chips away won't be able to match this, but they would polish the rim (back to bare metal to a chrome like finish) and then lacquer them. The finish won't be the same as the OEM - they'll be like mine

Oh deah what I feared….. so do I get all four polished? Or buy a new alloy? As I don’t want one totally different to the others. Do they require more work to keep them from rusting kind of? As they are down to the bare and exposed to the elements. Thanks for your help .

Cheaper to get all four polished than get a new alloy (probably - you'll have to look into that).

If you have them lacquered they'll take no extra work, and you shouldn't polish them as this will remove the lacquer. If like me you don't have them lacquered, then you'll be polishing them twice a week.

I paid £50 per wheel when I bought mine... local people to me, they did a top job.

Also had another car done at the same time (Mercedes with 18" AMG rims) also £50 per wheel.

Oh dear, Ive been cleaning the lip of my R90's with Autosol and think I have gone through the lacquer.
