Correction - I bought my R53 in March 2005 - when I was offered TLC XL!
The original order was placed in August 2004 - that is why the date stuck in my mind - but I quickly checked my old paperwork and I was mistaken - sorry Tigger.
The TLC XL was available from 1 January 2005 as per this post...
It was launched to coincide with the third anniversary of the first cars being registered, but I don't know if (or even when?) MINI started sending out reminders as I've never kept a car long enough!
I think it was actually a little bit after this, as I remember Skinny having to pay for a service then they launched it and he was not happy as he would have taken it out if he had known about.
I'm sure there is bound to be a new article about it when it was launched
And to qualify for TLC XL you can add it on as long as its done before 50,000 miles or 3 years old
errm does that mean i have missed out on getting XL TLC then as mines 3yrs old? never heard that before i hope you are wrong as i am concerned now as i was hoping to purchase that.
That's 8 years or 80,000 miles for just £450. MINI tlc XL, the extendable option to MINI tlc, can be purchased together with, or at any time during the life of MINI tlc.
Your MINI is covered for its:
1st inspection II service at approximately 60,000 miles
3rd oil service at approximately 70,000 miles
2nd brake fluid change.
You can also enjoy all the benefits acquired with MINI tlc and be happy knowing that your MINI's servicing is taken care of for a very long time.
A small price to pay for no worries adventuring.
1. MINI tlc XL can only be purchased for cars with MINI tlc.
2. MINI tlc XL must be bought and paid for at any time before the first service is carried out following the end of MINI tlc from any dealer in the UK.
3. MINI tlc XL covers the cost of the parts, lubricants and labour involved in all MINI servicing for a futher 3 years/30,000 miles, whichever milestone is reached first. It does not cover repair and maintenance items, such as tyres, brake pads, etc. If in doubt, ask your MINI Dealer for clarification.
4. Servicing must be carried out at a MINI approved Dealership by MINI technicians as specified in the Owner's Manual.
