Offline | Timing for remote unlocking of passenger door I have an 06 MINI Cooper S. Unlocking the passenger door with the remote requires clicking the unlock button twice. I don't have a problem with this, but the timing of the second click seems unusual. If I click unlock twice in rapid succession the passenger door does not unlock. To get it to work, I have to press the button once, wait 2 seconds, then press the button again. This seems excessively long. On my wife's Subaru you can click the remote twice rapidly and it works. I asked my dealer if the timing could be changed and they said that it can't be done. My question: Is this normal? Does every MINI owner need to pause a long time (two seconds is an eternity in electronics) when they want to unlock all the doors? By the way, I've had this car for just over a year, and this is the biggest complaint I could come up with! I love my MINI! ![]() |

Offline | You can have it changed to unlock everything with just one click. Thats how mine has been set up dont really see the point to have it the other way if everything locks when you hit 15 mph anyway. Didnt really answer the question but just throwing it out there. |

Offline | Well, I asked the dealer to change the behaviour to unlock all the doors with a single click of the remote. They said they would. But when the service on my car was done, they told me that they were unable to make the change. They said that they had just installed new software last week and were unable to figure out how to make it do what they wanted! She said that if I come back in a couple of weeks they should have it figured out. Since my dealer is over 100 miles away I probably won't make a special trip just for that. |
