installing rubber floor Mini floor mats

Mini fix:

Reference rubber floor mats:

I got a Mini rubber floor mat set for my 07 Mini.

Mini instructions direct us to remove regular floor mat cloth material then install a disc which is held in place with a screw into floor pan. (Disc comes with mat set. Disc has velcro which supposedly holds rubber mats in place.)

I didn't care to remove original mat and go thru that.

Instead I got EASY LINER for drawers and shelves which is a rubberized material to held things in place in drawers and shelves. I did not disturb original cloth material. Instead I Placed couple sections on top orginal material, under rubber floor mat. Seems to hold mats in place fairly well. Not sure of durbaility but I have used this liner for other purposes with good long lasting success.

This is not recommended by Mini just my way of doing it.

I don't know about the rubber mats for the '07 models, but those in my 2002 MCS are heavy enough that they don't need the "anchors" to hold them in place.

Same in my 2006 MCSC. Bought the rubber mats as SWMBO goes horseriding a couple of times a week and the carpet mats were getting pounded. Turns out I actually prefer them.
