Topping up the oil level

I am going to just top up the oil level and was wondering what to use, also there is a halfords nearby and would like to just get it from there.

If you phone your dealer they'll tell you the exact brand it sould have in at it's service (think it's castrol) and the type. Think it's 0W 30, something like that, don't quote me on it though! It's a long life oil as the Mini's are only ment to be serviced every 15k! Far too long, but from what I saw in Halfrauds this is about the only oil of 0W 30. About £14 per litre. I had to but from BMW as Halfrauds had run out and was only £1 more.

Anyway, best bet is to contact your dealer to find out for sure, although I'm sure someone on here will put me right if I'm wrong, hope that helps!

Just got top up oil from my dealer. As jamski says Castrol SLX 0W 30 @ £14/litre.

Justed checked the castrol website it seems that Castrol SLX 0W 30 has now been replaced by Castrol Edge 0W-30, so i'll be getting that instead.

Asked the Stealer the other day whilst I was in for some warranty work - the Cooper (R53) takes Castrol Edge 0W-30 or the £££BMW equivalent...

compared to motorway services at about £17.00 per ltr

guess where

morrisons,

also 3 microfibre cloths less than a quid
